Personal Bankruptcy and Health Care Reform

By Meg Brown

Republican, Democrat, Left, Right, Centrist... No matter how citizens in this nation may choose to politically identify ourselves, we are all pretty much in agreement about one thing: This country needs health care reform. Our suggestions as to what shape that reform should come in may not be identical but there is no denying that we are currently on the fast track to bankruptcy if meaningful reform is delayed much longer.

Bankruptcy is in fact what a growing number of Americans have already encountered through the health care system as it now functions. In June of this year, the American Journal of Medicine released a new study's findings based on figures available from 2007. The results of this study point out the debilitating role of medical expenses in families and individuals who must file for personal bankruptcy. Labeled as the "first-ever national random sample of bankruptcy filers", the study's authors worked hard to maintain conservative controls on their findings and followed the numbers up with fact-finding interviews with a significant portion of the sample's participants. Research indicated that a staggering 62% of personal bankruptcy filings were disproportionately driven by medically related expenses.

CNN interviewed an author of the study, Steffie Woolhandler, M.D. who made this concluding comment: "If an illness is long enough and expensive enough, private insurance offers very little protection against medical bankruptcy, and that's the major finding in our study." A comment coming from the D.C. based nonpartisan Center for Studying Health System Change in response to the American Journal of Medicine's study held some skepticism about what actually precipitated the bankruptcy filings but did own that medical expenses were a key player, considering that 1 in 5 American families are "unduly strained" by medical bills.

It is hard to fathom the aggressive rise in medical costs and their burden on families in the past 30 years. 1981 statistics indicate that only 8% of personal bankruptcy filings were in the aftermath of medical crisis. (These numbers were extracted from court records which did not indicate the origin of debt handled by collection agencies.) In 2001 findings, the number of medically related bankruptcies had jumped to 46%. In the short gap of 6 years, the American Journal of Medicine's findings for 2007 rose to nearly 62%. What the numbers will be after the effects of the current economic recession are tallied gives reason for pause.

The stigma that hangs over personal bankruptcy in our country is in part due to the public's common misunderstanding of what the average filer looks like; many people have a mental image of a hapless slouch. The American Journal of Medicine's study reveals this misapprehension for the untruth that it is. Most of the debtors surveyed were middle class, middle aged and college educated. 75% of the debtors had health insurance coverage at the onset of their financial and health problems. Typically this insurance left them with the commonplace gaps of high premiums, copayments, hefty deductibles and a range of uncovered medical services. It is important to note that policy rescission is a normative practice among medical insurance companies with 25% cancelling an individual's policy immediately upon a disability diagnosis and another 25% of companies cancelling within one year of the diagnosis.

This nation's long held axiom of "what is good for the middle-class is good for the country" could serve as a helpful guideline in healthcare reform. Every day there is an increasing number of middle class families struggling under the burden of medically related expenses through spiraling insurance premiums and large coverage gaps. Businesses struggle to maintain insurance plans for their employees, insurance that may turn out to be a misnomer as benefits and guaranteed coverage are downgraded in accordance with affordability. It is projected that in 2009, the U.S. will spend 17.6% of its gross domestic product on health care. And this is without taking into consideration all the hidden economic and societal costs of medically related bankruptcies.

Do yourself a favor as a good citizen and read the American Journal of Medicine's study in full. (You can find it quickly online at amjmed.com, Vol. 122, Issue 8, pp. 741 to 746.) Be informed, do some further fact scouting and let your congress representative and senator know that the average citizen wants and needs access to the quality of health insurance elected officials are privy to.

5 Fun Ideas For Planning A Twilight Themed Party

By Aaron Hu

This fall a lot of "Twi-Hards" will be waiting with baited breath for the release of New Moon in theatres. The movie continues the story of Bella and Edward as their relationship faces a new set of challenges with Bella ending up in a love triangle between her, her werewolf friend Jacob, and Edward and that is just the beginning. If you are planning your own themed party based on the movie you are probably wondering what you can do to set your party apart from the rest. Here are some great ideas for Twilight themed party decorations that will be sure to make you the envy of your friends.

The very first thing you need to do is pick a venue. Will you be having a house party or doing it at a public place? This will help you know what you have to work with when decorating. Normally a smaller place is good because you won?t have to spend as much on decorations. So if you are just having a get together with your gal pals then go for intimate. If it is an all out bash go for a more public venue with added event services. This will make planning that much easier.

The next thing to think about is the Theme. New Moon is the part of the Twilight franchise where we get introduced to werewolves. However they are not like the traditional kind and are rooted in Native American legend. This alone can give you a lot of interesting ideas to work with as you start decorating. Of course your basic colors will be dictated by the book covers so you will be using red, black, and white. As I mentioned before the werewolves in New Moon are Native Americans so look online for great items you can use to decorate the venue and mix with more common Twilight themed gear. Of course try to use movie posters, posters of the book cover, and life sized cut-outs of the actors as items to decorate with. You can also use more standard party gear like balloons and streamers.

Another thing to think about is favors. Once again movie promotional merchandise is your friend. You can also go with edible favors. Since is near the time for Halloween you should be able to find some great Twilight themed candy. If you are not sure what everyone will like try having a candy bar and get nice favor boxes to put them in. You can also use other fall favorites like candied apples and pumpkin flavor pastries. You can also give stationary, diaries, pens, or party toys such as fake fangs with wolf and vampire themes.

Another thing to take into account is activities. If the party is going to be a sleep over watching Twilight on DVD or reading New Moon are great suggestions. Also try to look up cool movie themed games online. You will be amazed at some of the innovative games and activities you will find.

Of course a party is not a party without food. First try to serve some of the foods mentions in the Twilight series such as lasagna, pizza, or spaghetti. You can also have vampire themed desserts like vanilla ice cream covered in strawberry syrup. You can also have a Twilight Cake with an edible image topper.

Tying The Knot

By David Bungay

Interlacing designs traces its origins to the works of art from the Roman Empire. Through the years, they have manifested themselves in knot patterns which have been present as early as the third and fourth centuries A.D. These patterns are found and embellished in various objects, art, architecture and edifices in vast cultures like Byzantine, Islam, Ethiopian, European and Celtic.

Celtic knots are famous for their beautiful and intricate designs and are mostly endless in interlacing pattern. Chevrons, step patterns, elliptical and non-elliptical designs and spiral designs are prominent motifs in Celtic culture. Some of these patterns were first manifested by interweaving cords in intricate ways. Celtic knots are notable symbols and representations and are used, like other knots, as ornaments and to decorate different monuments, manuscripts, art, architecture and jewelry. The Celts Despite their ancient origins, Celtic knots have found their way to the modern age and still continue to be used as designs, patterns and ornamentations for various objects and art. The delicateness and intricacy of these patterns never fail to enchant and captivate onlookers and the complex knot patterns may be engraved on the surfaces of jewelry. Being both beautiful and delicate in design, it would not be a surprise to find these ancient patterns on the surfaces of, for instance, platinum necklaces, and platinum arm bands and even platinum wedding rings for men and women. Platinum, being wear-and-tarnish resistant, make it well suited to making fine jewelry.

Also its silvery-white appearance makes it a beautiful setting for the complexity of Celtic patterns because it allows the engravings to stand out. Because Celtic knots are well known for their endless patterns, they perfectly symbolize the sacredness of marriage.

This association of Celtic knots, coupled with platinum's superior qualities, makes platinum wedding rings for men and women engraved with Celtic knot patterns the perfect way to tie the knot. Similarly, platinum wedding rings for men as well as women and bracelets embellished with Celtic knot patterns give the wearer a feel of what it was like to live in the time of the ancient Celts since they were also very much fond of displaying these patterns on their jewelry.

A form of wonderment can thus be accounted to the ancient Celts whose culture continue to thrive in today's times through the continuous manifestation of the Celtic knot and its presence in modern day culture, art and objects.

They're all talking about how we need to safeguard the planet. It's an issue of concern to everyone, which makes it a niche every serious online business should want to examine.

Luckily, Wow Green International is quite prepared to partner with us in that effort. In their compensation program, you can earn a commission on direct sales, and even a multi-level downline - just like the door-to-door sales companies you might remember from your youth.

Wow Green International is no different, really, than the newspaper and greeting card businesses you may have found as a kid. You saw them in a comic book, with the promise of earning great prizes, and you sent in the card.

What Wow Green International isn't advertising is the basic fact that you're not going to build a long-term business like that. The real value isn't in Wow Green's products. It's in the brand you're building for them.

We keep saying it ourselves, right here in this article: Wow Green International. We need to say it. You can't even discuss the program without saying it. That's what they're really after with your participation in this program; not the commissions you make selling their products, but the work you'll put in to make them better and better known.

It's all about promotion. They want to get their name in front of the world. You can't put your own name on their packages, after all; they all need to say "Wow Green International". They're using your work and your experience to get "Wow Green International" in front of all the people they can.

When you think about it, shouldn't that really be your name? You don't want "Wow Green International" on the front of your web page; it's not their site, it's yours. And down the road, you're never really going to be a success under someone else's name. You should position and promote your own name... to build a brand that benefits you AND your partners.

Why Dog Training is Important for You and Your Dog

By Don De Good

Are you concerned that training you dog will break the bond that you two have built? Do you just accept the fact that you have to keep your dog penned up because of aggressive behavior toward visitors, including your four year old's friends? Do you also accept the irritating howling and moaning when you take your dog for a walk? Is all of this actually tolerable behavior for a dog? I'm afraid not. I hate to break it to you, but even dogs have an expectation of being mannerly. The people tolerating your dog's shenanigansdo not share your opinion that it's cute when he climbs all over them, or damages doors.

You may find it difficult to be the voice of authority with your dog, and I can understand your feelings. Dog ownership does not make you a whip cracking tyrant, and it is a worthless thought to think that you are the one who must teach your pet who's in charge.

Where you are wrong, however, is in your basic understanding of dog training. You need to realize that training your dog is not about proving how much better you are than it, you are not trying to teach it 'human rules' and thereby attempting to make it more 'human', training is not a method of 'humanizing' a dog. What it is, in fact, is a way of improving the relationship you share with your pet, and of course a means of making it more sociable.

"Why should I bother with this?" you're asking. So, here is the reason that you should make the effort to train your dog. The vast majority of our days are spent behind a desk, pouring over balance sheets, downing cup after cup of coffee. With our very limited free time, we have to blend time with family, pets, and gathering with friends. After a long day at work, we may spend a enjoyable evening relaxing in the park, or accept an invitation for a movie at a friend's home. If your dog has trouble being around people, you will leave it home, and, more and more, you and your dog are spending little or no time together at all.

Much like us, animals experience feelings of sadness, loneliness, and depression when they aren't getting any attention from you and being left to sit alone in the dark most nights.

So you see ultimately due to your aversion towards training you keep your dog from enjoying the sort of company and activities it would like to.

Obedience training is a means of letting your dog cope better with it's immediate environment. It grants every dog an easier life and makes them easier to live with. Training your dog will give you more opportunity to spend more time with your beloved pet, no matter where you are going and who you are going with.

So, prove to your dog how much they mean to you by taking it out for obedience training today. Once they understand the magic words: heel, stay, sit, come, down, you and your best buddy will be able to experience much more enjoyable time together. Happy training!

Why Is There a Need to Backup Your Computer Files?

By Travis Van Slooten

Forget the notion that you're just an average computer user who doesn't need to backup your computer files. Not only companies or individuals who have top-secret or financial information such as government agencies, banks, or criminal investigation units need to backup computer files, all of us do. After all, isn't our own work, a year's collection of family photos, or a compilation of our favorite songs gathered and painstakingly categorized, important as well? True, the loss of these files may not affect other people, but the effect of such loss on you would be devastating. In this digital age, your computer files are part of your life.

Some have kept certain files for years. And this was always done in the same old process. First, you buy a stack of floppy disks or CDs which can be costly. You organize your files in such a way that everything in one category would fit into the disk space. Then, you label each disk before finally storing the information - which usually takes lots of space and hours of time. In storing your files, you need to be extra careful since a few scratches or a several drops of water could be enough to erase all your hard work and stored data. You may buy a protective safe for your disks but this would mean additional expenses on your part.

Today, technology has come a long way in providing storage space. Now, a wide range of external hard drives are already available in the market. These hard drives can be plugged in to almost all types of computers so you can find your files and work on them right away. Another good thing about external hard drives is that it allows you to organize data into folders, just like how you do it with your home computer's built-in hard drive. Now, you no longer need to sort through stacks of diskettes or CDs. The drives come in various sizes - others can hold multiple terabytes of information. For instance, a terabyte drive can store over 200,000 photos at 5 megabytes each.

The thing is though, external hard drives don't come cheap and while it gives you a convenient way to keep your files safe, not everyone is sold out on using it. Some people think that external drives are good only for those with technical background.

For these types of computer users, a good option for ensuring that your data is safe from all possible causes of data loss would be to avail of online backup services being offered by many companies. With this backup method, you don't need to be a techie because most of these online storage solutions are very user-friendly. And, you get the assurance that your data is being kept away from prying eyes using advanced encryption technology and stored in servers located in a protected area.

Make Money Online With Paid Surveys

By Greg Shuey

Answering paid surveys are a great way to earn extra money online. If you like going online, paid surveys can make your online experience even more exciting and rewarding.

Consumer feedback is one thing that is very important to companies. This will help companies improve their business. Paid surveys are used to get this kind of information. You should take advantage of this.

Since consumer feedback is very important in their business, they are willing to invest a lot of money on paid surveys. Your opinions matter to them, that's why they will pay you as much as they can in exchange for your opinion. If you are new at this, you should take note of these tips:

1. Look for paid survey sites that offer very attractive remuneration packages. Some sites' rewards may seem low for some people. If you want to earn more, try to search for other sites that have more to give you for your efforts.

2. Be careful not to be scammed by fraudulent sites. There are a lot of scam sites in the Internet today. Take care not to fall victim to anyone of these. One good indicator is asking for fees. Though there are some legit sites that ask or membership fees, you will feel it when you are looking at a scam site.

3. Make sure to complete your profile. Paid survey sites match surveys with profiles of panelists. If they see your preferences match a survey they have, they will send it to you. They do this because they will be able to get more relevant information from people who know more about a certain product than the ordinary survey panelist.

4. Always check your email for any survey request. You need to remember this because you can miss out on a survey if you don't check your mail regularly.

5. Sign up with as much survey sites as possible. If you want to earn more, then you should answer more paid surveys. This will not be a problem because surveys will only take a few minutes to complete.

When the bride arrives at the ceremony in her white wedding dress, while the groom is waiting for her, the room is full of anticipation.

The etiquette of a traditional wedding is essential and should be followed.

When the couple wants to celebrate their wedding in a Christian way, they most likely will choose a church for the ceremony. In this case the groom has to wear a black suit and the bride an outstanding beautiful white wedding dress.

Today many couples decide to have a non-religious wedding ceremony. They want to get married by a family member or a friend, but they still want to follow tradition, then consider following:

7.The first kiss as a married couple

8.Ending and walking out escorted by music

Before the ceremony can start, there is a lot of planning involved. Pick up a pencil and write down your answers of following questions?

1.Make a guests list of people you would like to have around your

2.Send out the official invitation to your guests in time.

3.Find the officiant for your ceremony and get help with the marriage certificate

4.Find a wonderful location for the ceremony

5.Decide who will be the wedding processional and who take part of your bridal party

6.Organize the wedding rings

7.What kind of music is suitable during the cerenomy?

8.What happen after the ceremony? Is a wedding party planed?

9.What to wear during the wedding ceremony?

10.Do you have planed to change clothes after the ceremony?

Give yourself a minimum of 6 months before the wedding. Tick everything on your list, when each task is done.

Wedding planing is most likely a project. Be focused on getting things done.

I hope this short overview of what happens during the traditional ceremony, and what should be organized prior to the event, will help you to save time for your wedding plan.

Use of props

Food photographers setting up to take a picture not only arrange the food neatly but they also include a plate or table cloth to add the surrounding. The idea is not to clutter the picture but allow room for a few extra items you can add to it like a glass, napkin, or a fork. These items can be placed in the background in a secondary location of your picture area, giving it extra spice.

If you do a lot of food photography then shopping at second hand markets can be a great way to build your box of props. You can pick up expensive items like large pots and dishes and vases for a few dollars and a smile. If you do not do much then you may have to go shopping for what you need and bill the client!

Quickness

Unfortunately food won't stay appealing for very long. As a food photographer you will want to be well prepared and ready to shoot your picture as soon as the dish is finished. This will give it no time to melt, collapse or lose its color. So knowing what you want the picture to turn out like will help you to prepare for the photo. One way food photographers prepare is to have everything arranged before the food is finished. By placing a temporary stand-in plate is an excellent way to get the lighting right, and when the food is finished you switch it with the finished dish and your picture is ready to be taken.

Instant way to improve your photos

One simple way is to simply use a light high quality vegetable oil and brush it on the food! This will create a high quality shiny finish that we love to see on food.

Touch base with the chef

You will usually be working with a food professional be it a stylist or chef. Hopefully you are not on a low budget shoot and have to do the displays yourself.

Take a few minutes before the shoot to talk with the chef and ask them how they like to work. Ask them if there is anything you need to know about the food that may not be obvious. If nothing else this will make them feel good so you will then be able to work closer and better together.

What Is A "Buyers Only" List?

By Boritch Y. Genovich

Content is king. It gets to wear the crown. And sit on the throne. And rule the world. When it comes to establishing credibility, gaining trust and producing sales, content is royalty. While I would never suggest abandoning the concept of delivering high quality content to your subscribers, there is another type of list composed of subscribers who couldn't care less about content.

"What is this type of list?" you ask. - The "announcement list". I've been teaching about the "announcement" list since at least 2002 (on record at an event). And, yet, it's a widely untapped asset in most email marketing circles. The main reason is: nobody's teaching it. And so, nobody knows anything about it, let alone how to effectively create one of these lists. So, we're going to revisit it.

-------------------------------------------------------

What Is An "Announcement" List?

-------------------------------------------------------

DEFINED: An announcement list is a list whose sole purpose is to "announce" (I.E. Inform, notify) when something new is available for review, consumption or purchase. In other words, it unapologetically says, "Hey, I just released XYZ. Come check it out!" Now, at first glance you may be thinking, "Who would join a list that offers no content and only sales pitch?" If you say it that way, it doesn't sound too good to me either! That's why you don't say it that way. Let's take a look at HOW to "say it"...

-------------------------------------------------------

How About An Example "Announcement" List?

-------------------------------------------------------

If you go to my site you'll find a textbook example of this concept. PLRSO stands for "Private Label Rights Special Offers" I established this list for the sole purpose of informing people anytime I have a new PLR offer available for them to buy.

That's it. I don't send out ezine articles to them. No newsletters. They don't get blog posts. There aren't any special reports. No content of any kind. What they get, in essence, are sales messages. And there are already 2,822 subscribers, many of which have already purchased some of the PLR special offers that have been "announced" to the list.

And how, does it work! Here are some of the reasons...

1. I used an 'in-demand" product and allow my subscribers to start ahead of others by knowing about the new release before it is available to the rest of the world by joining the list.

2. I don't call it an "announcement list", instead it is my "Free PLR Club". That dramatically changes the perception.

3. I purchase a separate domain name for it, increasing the perceived importance and value to those who subscribe.

4. You don't have to buy to join, nor do you have to buy after you've joined. No commitment. Buy what you want, pass on those you don't.

5. An example of cost is provided with what you can purchase presently. This further shows the "value" of the complementary membership.

The idea of creating the "announcement list" becomes a complete no-brainer when you throw in the following twist. My affiliates get to "give away" free memberships to the PLRSO club. Then when a referral buys an offer, they get a check. I get a lot of other people promoting and building my list for me and we all win.

Right now the wheels are churning, er turning...

-------------------------------------------------------

What Kind Of "Announcement" List can I Build?

-------------------------------------------------------

There are a wide variety of "announcement" lists that you can build. Let's briefly look at nine of them...

* PLR List. You can swipe my idea and create a list of private label rights buyers.

* New Offers List. Build a list of people who love your work and want to be notified any time you have a new offer available.

* Pre-Launch List. Create buzz and anticipation for an upcoming new product release by building a pre-launch list several weeks (even months) in advance.

* Ezine Publishers List. A list of publishers wanting any new ezine article you have that is available for them to reprint in their ezines.

* Bloggers List. Allow bloggers who are looking for ready-made content to post to their blogs. "Announce" to them when you have new content.

* Industry News List. Every industry needs someone who has their finger on the pulse. You could become the "go to" guy or gal for breaking news about your industry.

* Joint Venture List. Everyone needs a list of partners and affiliates ready to promote your new offer anytime you have one.

* Incentives List. How about creating a list of people to whom you offer "bonuses" if they purchase a new product of someone else through YOUR affiliate link.

* Freebie List. Regularly give away rebrandable content (reports, articles, videos, etc.) to these subscribers to earn commissions.

While all nine of these lists aren't necessarily "buyers" up front, they each can certainly lead to buyers and revenue for you if you implement them. Content is king. But let's not forget that there are a lot of queens, princes, dukes and earls out there too.

MMA (UFC) V Boxing

By Mike Edwards

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting has just about finished boxing. With MMA groups like Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Pride and WEC the level of skill and excitement has risen way above anything boxing can produce.

Boxing was once upon a time, a multi-million dollar business with the best boxers in the world providing excitement ring. People all over the world would sit around there TV watching the fight of the year. Then a decade or so later we had heavy weights like Iron Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield. They were big exciting boxers that pounded each other. They usually provided good action and knockouts. After these boxers retired or faded out we lost boxers with size and moved to boxers with skill like Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather etc. This era of boxing was great but it always ended in a decision. It started to take the fun out of watching boxing and people were getting tired of paying good money for a non entertaining fight and no ending with a KO.

Then in 90s along comes this Ultimate Fighting Championship tournament where eight men are pitted against each other in a caged octagon ring, with a winner at the end of the night winning the tournament. There were only two rules, no eye gouging and no biting. You could do anything else to win. To get the win you either knocked your opponent out or submitted him. There were many different styles of fighting, anywhere from Kung Fu, to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, to Muay Thai and Bar Room Brawling. Thats why its so entertaining because anybody who had fighting experience had a chance. When it first started there were a lot of mismatched though! At the end of the day though, this was great entertainment to audiences. People started paying to watch these fights and with the media putting a negative spin on it, UFC blew up. In 2001 the UFC was sold to new owners and Dana White was named president.

Dana White is responsible for making UFC and other MMA events so popular today. He changed the fighting rules, so it would be less barbaric and also so that there were two fighters competing for the win, instead of a tournament style fight. Also there would be 6-7 fights on a pay-per-view event. So that means on a pay-per-view event you have the chance to see 6-7 people get knocked out or submitted. Unlike boxing where you watch 12 rounds of boxing to get a bad decision.

Dana White decided to increase the popularity of UFC even more by introducing The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) reality show in which the winner gets a contract to fight in the UFC and a shot at stardom. This show has a firm grip on guys in the age range of 18-34. It has been recorded that, in this age range, the shows ratings have surpassed NBA and MLB playoffs. As for the pay-per-view money, in 2006 the UFC made $223M, HBO made $177M and WWE made $200M. Dana Whites definitely doing something right. Fighters are getting more popular than ever as their fan base increases. With popular fighters like Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz and Lyota Machida

So why is UFC more popular than Boxing? Its simple. The UFC offer fast paced action which usually ends in a submission or Knockout. Instead of watching 12 long rounds of Boxing just to end in a decision. One of the great things in MMA is you just never know whos going to win. All it takes is someone to get a lucky shot in and his opponent drops like a sack of potatoes. Boxing hasnt produced that in a long time. Thats not to say UFC doesnt have its faults.

At the end of the day, UFC is offering viewers what they want. I think boxing will be around for a few more years but MMA will beat boxing out of business sooner rather than later.

Alternative Sleep Apnea Treatments

By Pat Johnson

There are two types of dental devices for sleep apnea, namely, the lower jaw or mandibular devices and tongue retaining or advancing devices. In addition to the these, the usual treatment for children who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea is removal of the tonsils and also the adenoids. It is also extremely common, and is reported to affect about twelve million Americans.

Studies have revealed that a weight closer to the average value diminishes significantly the number of apneic episodes per hour. I lost interest in this method shortly after falling off yet another diet. A balanced diet would be helpful in promoting a healthy state of well being.

Aside from eating nutritious foods, others would resort to dietary supplements and herbal medications to help in treating sleeping disorders. As you can see, this problem can have an adverse effect in a lot of areas of your life. Diagnosis and treatment are really essential, and there are a number of treatments available for this condition, including the treatment of the underlying cause.

Dental therapies are only for those who are experiencing mild cases of sleep apnea. The mandibular advancement splint (MAS) is an oral appliance that is similar to a mouth guard. Fortunately, it's very easy to find dentist who can make a custom fitting device to help you cure your problem.

But a sleep disorder should not be regarded as something trivial at all. Surgical procedures such as uvolopalatopharyngoplasty, adenoidectomy and tonsillectomy can also be chosen, as well as neurostimulator medications to deal with it. I wish everything was simple. Symptoms of this disorder can differ but snoring is the most common and noticeable trait.

Involuntary attacks are usually more threatening as these sort of attacks affect the oxygen levels in the body. The primary treatment that is given to a person who is suffering from sleep apnea is termed as positive airway pressure. The nasal mask and headgear are used to provide pressurized air to the person.

How to Tap the Appropriate Search Engine Marketing Company for Your Goals

By Ed Brancheau

Considering which search engine marketing company (SEM) you should chose is no easy thing. The first company you find is not always the best to meet your needs, which is why it is wise to take your time in choosing a SEM. That way the company you decided on doing business with will be one to accommodate your needs.

Trust Is Critical When Choosing a SEM Company

The most important factor is that you choose a SEM company you can trust. Meet with several different companies to discuss some plans before delving into detailed plans. Your business will enter into a relationship with the company and as this relationship develops, information pertinent to the success of your business will be released. If the company cannot be trusted, you are risking your business' well being.

In helping deduce whether the SEM is trustworthy, you should insist that they show you some references. If they are wary about providing you with references, you should take this as a major warning, because any reputable SEM would not be afraid to show you their references. If the company you chose to work with is new and does not have a lot of experience, you should tread carefully in this situation and figure during your interviews with them if they are worth your time and money.

Now you should ask yourself if the company answered all your questions to the fullest potential or did they try cleverly dodging some? If that particular SEM company can answer all of your questions and without hesitating, elaborating on details and fully explains the processes to you, it is probably a safe assumption that the company is trustworthy.

If the SEM starts pressuring you into things or service that do not make sense to you it is a big red flag. Understand that some of the time they might have some constructive criticism for your website. If the problems pointed out are large, you should take the time and correct them, because why pay for advertising to for your site if no interested parties will visit and become customers.

Identify the Services You Need

Not all search engine marketing companies are created equally. Though there are many basic services such as search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertisement and pay-for-inclusion services, search engine marketing and optimization will involve several different things from a site re-design to new content and marketing to build back links -- links to your site from another reputable site -- to help increase rankings naturally. Pay-per-click campaigns will advertise your company in the search engine results page on the sidebars, and you will pay each time the ads get clicked. Pay for inclusion services allow you to pay to have search engines crawl certain pages of your website with a certain frequency.

Getting To A Comfortable Risk Level

Any search engine marketing plan will require an investment before knowing if and how much money the company will earn back in new customers and sales. It is important that you determine beforehand how much risk you are willing to take. Do not let the company pressure you into more.

Take your time in finding and choosing a search engine marketing company. Because of the investment and importance of the business relationship, this is something that should not be rushed into if you expect the best possible results. The search engine marketing company you ultimately choose should understand and be willing to help you with any aspect of making the decision on the right company for your needs.

Phelps Per Day Workout Routine

By Jesse Regan

It is not often you hear someone say he simply has three tasks in his routine, without a miss every day, specifically sleep, eat and swim " and probably in that cycle. For others it sounds like a typical life, but you might consider having to follow it religiously the whole year round and see if its anything typical. But for Michael Phelps, it is as he lives it as if its that simple and easy to be an Olympic success, and winning gold medals for the last two Olympic Games, and beating the world and American records, accordingly.

So what is this champions daily workout routine? He undergoes six hours of training a day, six times a week. If you talk about being religious at it, he has even been doing the regular trainings regardless if they fall on a holiday, as Christmas. Approximately, these six hours of training is equivalent to eight miles of swimming. If you think this is a lot of hard work, then you might want to list down dedication after that. As swimming is considered to be one of the most intensive workouts, you can not get by if you simply develop the skill of swimming alone.

Listing it down, strength and power in the arms and feet are needed to perform those strokes. If youd want to do the winning butterfly or freestyle stroke of Michael Phelps, then youll be sure to need that muscle endurance and flexibility. If you place an ordinary swimmer to a Michael Phelps, youll find twelve powerful strokes to about eight, respectively.

In order to achieve this strong and powerful arms and feet, Michael Phelps performs strength trainings about three hours each week, with the maintenance and work out for those body muscles. He accordingly works out on his cardiovascular for his conditioning.

Thats Michael Phelps, the mighty swimming machine, as many regard him. But youll be surprised to learn that he is not as powerful on land, which is why he relies on stationary equipment as stationary bikes to avoid straining or injuring his knees.

All in all, thats a lot of hard work, commitment and dedication to do what he has been doing years now. More than that when you take a closer look, youll find a purpose properly spelled on it. Why wouldnt it when even other athletes would think that this Michael Phelps daily workout is highly rigorous, placing in those multi-faceted trainings befitting the titles and record breaks he has performed. This swimming champion or swimming machine as many regard him, gets two massages in his routine, together with ice baths, to balance out his strenuous work out. If youre curious what this swimming machine eats, then youd likely get prepared to be awe struck. Considerably, he gets to eat 12,000 calories a day. Thats basically a lot of food in there, but then again, we have to match something with that six hours of training, right? If youd like to be an Olympic champion like Michael Phelps, then generally you have that three tasks in your list " ironically simple but that hard. You can take a peek at these make money from home details online.

Top 5 Reasons For Hiring a Car in Malta

By Edward Johnson

Malta is a small group of islands in the Mediterranean (Europe) and scores of tourists travel to this beautiful holiday destination every year. As with most holidays, hiring a car in Malta is a common practice and there are plenty of Malta car hire agencies out there that offer very reasonable prices for reliable cars. There are some very strong reasons to hire a car in Malta that will help you get the most out of your Malta holidays.

Reason 1: Avoid public transport by hiring a car. The only form of public transport in Malta is route buses, which have been up for replacement by new vehicles for decades. If you hire a car on your Malta holiday you can steer clear of these old, noisy and uncomfortable buses which only get appreciation from classic car collectors but none from the rest of us. Although public transport is dirt cheap (when compared to car hire in Malta), you get what you pay for: Pay peanuts, get monkeys!

Reason 2: Car hire allows you to do more with your Malta holiday. There is a lot to discover in Malta, in fact the islands are well known for their high concentration of places of interest. Using public transport to get around visiting these places means you'll waste a lot of time on bus routes which have been designed for the Maltese and not for tourists. If you hire a car in Malta you can also avoid bus tours, which are not very flexible, not very private and pretty expensive too.

Reason 3: It's cheap to hire a car in Malta. There's a lot of choice when it comes to car hire in Malta, with a lot of competition between car hire agencies, driving the prices down and providing better vehicles than in other holiday destinations. Fuel prices in Malta are among the lowest in all of Europe, with both petrol and diesel costing around 1 euro per liter. Finally, tours are a popular choice for tourists, but if you take more than just one or two you'll be spending a pretty penny and a hired car is definitely a cheaper and more flexible option for your Malta holidays.

Reason 4: Enjoy the freedom a hire car offers in Malta. You can drive your hired car around all sorts of places you would otherwise never have seen and it's practically impossible to get lost on an island measuring only 122 square miles! You can find places that the locals only know about, such as secluded beaches and peaceful villages that can really show you what Malta and the Maltese are really about.

Reason 5: Driving in the Maltese sun requires air conditioning! If you decide not to hire a car in Malta during a summer holiday there, you're going to regret it. With an average daytime temperature of over 32 degrees Celsius and high humidity levels its just no fun riding a bus or going on a tour in the midday sun. Unless of course you hire a car with AC. Yes, it'll cost you a bit more but trust me, it's well worth the expense!

The Economics Of Online Cooking Classes

By Vinny Peterson

There has been a steep rise in the number of websites offering online cooking classes in the last few years, leading to speculation as to whether offering such online cooking classes could be particularly economically rewarding.

And as it turns out, offering online cooking classes can indeed be economically rewarding, if done right. Now an economic activity is regarded as particularly rewarding if the revenues from it are significantly higher that the cost that go into making a product out of it.

The major costs that the people offering online cooking classes incur are the costs of developing the courses and the costs of maintaining the websites through which the courses are offered. And thanks to cheap content development services available over the Internet (thanks mainly to the power of business process outsourcing), the online cooking course development cost element can be surprisingly low. And neither is the cost of maintaining the website through which the online cooking classes are offered particularly high, as web hosting costs have always been low, and are getting even lower with falling costs of internet bandwidth and computer storage, which are the only things one really pays for in web-hosting.

This takes us to the revenue part of the economic reward equation for online cooking classes. Now depending on the model the people offering the classes opt for, revenue can come from either student subscriptions or advertising by the makers of the various cooking ingredients advertising on the website.

Neither model is really superior to the other, though many online cooking schools are opting to offer the online cooking courses free of charge (and relying on the advertising revenue), meaning that the model of relying on student subscriptions might eventually die out, unless the people using it can show unique value propositions to justify the fees they charge for something which is being offered free of charge elsewhere. In either case though, the revenues for a website offering online cooking classes and attracting a good number of students can be reasonable.

And getting into the final analysis, it would seem that the assertion that offering online cooking classes is economically rewarding is not misplaced; as the revenues from the endeavor outdo the costs put into developing the service by far.

As more and more people see the economic potential in offering online cooking classes, we can only predict that the number of cooking classes on offer on the Internet is bound to keep on rising " with competition between the people offering it heating up " till the supernormal profits are brought back to normal levels killing the extra initiative to get into the niche.

The Basics of 30 Year Mortgage Rates

By Brian Armstrong

If you are new to mortgages or just don't remember going through the process the last time you financed a home purchase, this article will explain some important features of the loan known as the fixed rate loan or fixed rate mortgage. These are pretty easy to come by and the product that is the most familiar to people purchasing or refinancing homes. A purchase of a home is most likely the largest outlay of funds you'll experience during your life, so understanding the fixed rate mortgage is important knowledge to have.

The fixed rate mortgage is by far the most common type of mortgage. When new homebuyers begin pricing loans, these are typically where people will start. Most fixed rate mortgages advertised also usually talk about the rate for a 30 year "fixed" rate. When people talk about their mortgage, there is a very good chance that they are referring to their 30 year fixed. A little less common are the adjustable rate mortgages. Of course there are dozens of different mortgage products available based on the needs you have. Interesting that the selling of "money" is basically packaged in different forms just like any other product or service.

The most common fixed rate mortgage is a 30 year mortgage. There are also other options including a 15, 20 and even a 40 year mortgage product. This may change in the future as well, but these are the most typical offers you'll see when evaluating your options. The longer the mortgage term, the lower your interest rate may be, but you'll typically pay more in interest over the life of the loan. This is why you'll see a 15 year mortgage with a higher rate than a 30 year mortgage typically. The payments for a 15 year are higher as well simply because the loan amount may not change and to pay off your home in a shorter period, it will require higher monthly payments. Simple math I know, but better to not assume too much.

One of the main benefits to the fixed rate mortgage is that your monthly payment won't change for the duration of the loan. In many companies in the US, you'll also have the advantage of being paid every 2 weeks. If you setup your mortgage to work on this same two week payment schedule, you'll end up making 26 payments per year (52 weeks per year / 2 for every other week) which is the equivalent of 13 months of payments instead of 12 months. Of course this option can be worked out at the time you're applying for your loan as well.

The other benefit to a fixed rate mortgage is that at the end of the loan, you don't have a balloon payment or the need to come up with any other money that you haven't already been paying. Some mortgage products have a balloon payment that would require you to come up with additional funds at the end of the term or cause you to refinance the balance in order to keep your home.

With a fixed rate mortgage, a percentage of your payments each month will go towards the interest and the rest will go towards the principal. This is not an even amount. What I mean is that the the first few years of your mortgage, the majority of the monthly payment goes to pay the interest and the smaller percentage goes towards the principal. Of course you can make extra payments on the principal which means the interest payment will decrease simply because the interest paid is done so on the balance, which if you pay more towards the principal above and beyond the monthly payment, there will be a lower balance due and less interest. This doesn't mean your monthly payment will change, but it will decrease the amount of interest due and increase the percentage of your payment that is applied to paying down the principal.

Getting a fixed rate mortgage is a good program for a large percentage of home owners in today's society. Keep in mind, however, that this is not the only option. But, if you understand the basics of the fixed rate mortgage, you'll better understand the other mortgage products that are available as they are explained to you by your loan officer. It's important to find someone you can trust to work with on your home loan. This will get you most of the way to where you need to be for getting a mortgage or looking into refinancing.

Nurses and Chronically Ill Patients: Open Communication is Key

By Lisa Copen

The medical world could not function without nurses. It's no secret to any of us who has had a doctor's appointment or been in the hospital that a nurse can make all of the difference in our total experience and recovery process. Whether undergoing a routine procedure, scheduling a simple appointment, or being there beside us while the doctor has a serious conversation, a nurse's presence can determine how well we as the patient copes with the situation and emotionally processes the outcome.

Those of us with illness can be quick to criticize the nurses who hardly acknowledge us, who forget to bring our medications when we are in the hospital, and who seem to enjoy their job as the gatekeeper to their doctor a little too much.

But as a chronically ill patient, and our many encounters with nursing staff, we can also fondly recollect the nurses who helped us make undeniable recoveries by being our advocate when doctors wouldn't listen, or by simply holding our hand while we endured a painful (and possibly lonely) medical procedure.

Recently, when I was checked into the hospital, the nurse from the wound care center had to push me in a wheelchair through an outside maze of a construction zone walkway. Ironically, she shared that she too had rheumatoid arthritis like myself. I felt like I made a new friend in those ten minutes and she made me much more comfortable in getting to my destination.

For years I've attempted to get a nurse to write an article about her typical day for HopeKeepers Magazine. I'd like patients to know how the nurse's day is filled with scheduling issues, checking patients in and the constant lack of time to accomplish all that is expected.

I have not yet found a nurse who was willing to even be interviewed for such an article; more than a few have even exclaimed, "If anyone found out, I would lose my job!"

With chronically ill patients and nurses continuing to improve their understanding of one anothers and each others needs however, there is only room for improvement in this long-standing relationship. Sadly, sometimes the nurse/patient relationship lasts longer than some marriages.

Here are 12 tips chronically ill patients would like to give to nurses:

[1] When you ask if I am taking any medications and I pull out two pieces of paper with everything listed, please don't look flabbergasted or as if I am a drug addict.

[2] When you take a moment to ask me about how I am doing emotionally, not just physically, I feel like you really do care. In some ways this makes me more comfortable and even forthcoming about the physical symptoms when the doctor asks me questions later.

[3] Thanks for celebrating little things with me, such as reaching a goal weight or decreasing a medication. I know you see these things every day, but to me they are a big deal. You are one of the few people who understand how hard it is for a chronically ill patient to reach these goals. Your enthusiasm makes me day!

[4] Logically, I know you don't know every medication on the market, but when you have to ask me how to spell the medication that is advertised in every womens magazine, I wonder how often you get out of the office.

[5] I don't know if you realize how powerful your words are. When you complement me by saying, "You have the best attitude about your illness. I really admire you for how well you cope with it," that can keep me going for days.

[6] I appreciate it when you ask, "Would it be okay if I pray for you?" Some people may say no, but for many it will be the first time some cared enough to even ask.

[7] There are times when I am have been having a medical procedure and my family is not able to be there. I know it's a minor procedure for you, but the fact that you understand it's a major procedure to me, and you stick around and hold my hand, is one of the nicest things anyone ever does for me.

[8] I am somewhat of a "professional patient." And that means I can come across a little bit like a control freak when it comes to monitoring my pain level and knowing when and how much medication I need to control it. That said, handing you the reins of dispersing all of my medication when I'm in the hospital is a challenge. The time of morning I take my drugs makes all the difference in my day. So I appreciate when you are able to get it to me as close to the right time as possible.

[9] I know you have bad days too. Feel free to tell me "Today has been a little crazy." You are allowed to be grumpy, but let me know if I am not specifically the cause of your mood and to the so I don't take it personally.

[10] I know sometimes when you are trying to get me in for an appointment my schedule can be difficult. I'm not trying to be complicated. Although a great deal of my time is filled with doctor's appointments, therapies, lab tests, etc. I'm also trying to work around my family's schedule to have as normal of life as possible.

[11] When you go out of your way to do something like calling a prescription into the pharmacy so I don't have to wait when I get there, I realize that it is an extra step for you, and it doesn't go unnoticed. I appreciate it.

[12] When I'm stuck in the hospital, I appreciate the way you go out of your way to make it as pleasant as possible. Things like help in the shower, changing the sheets, or having a conversation about something normal, all help distract me from my surroundings. Thank you for treating me like a person and not a project.

Coping with a chronic illness is very difficult. Choosing the path of a nursing career is not easy either. When each graciously passes along encouragement to one another by saying "thank you" or "I so admire your strength," both the nurse and the patient can have a much more productive--sometimes even enjoyable--relationship.
